Personal Introduction
When I visit websites, my first stop is the page like this. I want to know who it is selling a car, teaching a marketing strategy, or offering dog-walking services, because I believe the person you are matters deeply. Consequently, the person I am matters, not just the therapist I am.
I focus on the big picture. I work hard to be kind and believe good deeds matter. I don't judge my patients and I am honest with them. I have a sense of humor. I am ethical, responsible, and know that trust is the foundation of any relationship. I smile more than I frown. I want you to speak your truth. I strive to combine my desire for justice with my ability to accept "what is."
My goal is to listen with a gentle ear and an open mind as you give voice to aspects of yourself and your experience that have been silenced, shamed, or hurt. I hope to elicit your strengths and insights with genuine curiosity and playful humor. I invite you to be fully present in a non-judgmental, warm, and supportive therapeutic relationship. I believe the sum of you is greater than your various identities, roles, and experiences and that accessing closed-off parts of yourself helps your life become more full and rich.
I listen carefully and speak thoughtfully, and at times we may sit together in silence as witnesses to your words and in-session experiences; to your pain, sorrow, fear, or hope. Assisting people toward empowered self-awareness and authentic and balanced self-expression is my hope for my patients. All of the photos on this website are my own work and photography is one of my hobbies.
